At the American Express Gala Screening of ‘The King’s Speech’ during the 54th BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon Leicester Square yesterday, American actress Claire Dane was spotted wearing a red and black sleeveless Prada dress. The print of Dane’s knee length Prada Fall 2010 dress and the black ruffled lace detail gave it a retro look that was accessorized with black glossy pumps, drop earrings and a black heart bracelet. Popular American rap artiste T.I. wears Prada. He reportedly said “I Do” to his long-time love “Tiny” at a Miami beach courthouse on Friday, July 30, and later celebrated with a fairytale style romantic wedding on the exclusive island and celebrity playground Star Island on Saturday, July 31. Both the bride and groom reportedly arrived in style, as they rode in a horse-drawn carriage dressed in white. T.I. was wearing a custom-made Prada tuxedo.

One of the biggest celebrity news items this week, is that Australian super model Miranda Kerr is now engaged to British actor, Orlando Bloom.

Maybe it’s a match made in heaven … while Orlando is off shooting movies, Miranda keeps busy on the runway. She recently strutted her stuff for Prada’s Fall 2010 collection in Milan fashion week, and subsequently got booked for the Prada Fall/Winter-campaign alongside Angela Lindvall.

FYI – in May 2010, Miranda was listed as number 9 on the Forbes Top 10 Earning Models.

It was a glittering affair, as the stars came out for Britain’s National Movie Awards 2010 in London yesterday. Not to be outdone, Gwyneth Paltrow stood out in a pink sculptural dress by Prada, and presented Tom Cruise with a Screen Icon award. To describe it: the top section of the dress overhangs in an A line, accentuated style - this is what makes the dress really unique. This is otherwise quite a 60’s style dress, but has clearly been given a futuristic update by Miuccia Prada for the runway.

The premiere was held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, England on Thursday, February 11. The dress went very well with her Lanvin jewels and a pair of shoes and bag (both by Miu Miu). She was spotted recently at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival looking adorably chic in a spring-summer 2010 Prada printed frock (check it out below). How fantastic is that beach-print dress? Its photographic print actually has an entire beachscape on there, complete with sand and sunbathers.

Prada was in full-effect at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards held last night (January 31) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Persons of note who were wearing Prada included Nicole Kidman, John Legend and Maxwell.

John Legend wore a striking gray silk shantung Prada two-button suit with a white shirt, black skinny leather tie and gray mesh sweater underneath.

Nicole Kidman wore a black satin high-halter neck Prada gown with jet crystal detailing from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

Maxwell wore a two-button Prada tuxedo, white popeline shirt and black satin tie.

Emma Thompson Donates Black Prada Jacket For Clothes Recycling Campaign

Academy Award-winning British actress, comedian, and screenwriter Emma Thompson is among several celebrities who will be re-styled and given a new lease of life in a clothes recycling campaign.

Camden Council’s (located in the UK) ‘From bin bags to glad rags’ campaign will offer residents lessons in sewing and needlework, and show how old clothes can be reused. Designers from a green charity, TRAID (Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development), will reuse Thompson’s black Prada jacket, and a cap from Scott’s film Robin Hood. The day-long event is part of the council’s goal to fight climate change.

Other celebrities endorsing the campaign are Terry Gilliam and Ridley Scott as well as comedians Julian Clary, who donated a Christian Lacroix shirt and Victoria Wood, who gave her jumper.
