New Prada Sub-Collection – Made In… – Coming Soon

Later this year, Prada will reportedly debut a new sub-collection called ‘Made In…‘ inspired by Miuccia Prada’s grandfather, Mario, “who traveled, like the connoisseur he was, to every corner of the globe in the early 20th century to find the world’s most authentic items.”

Made In… will reportedly feature and include handmade items such as ballet flats, tartan prints, and alpaca wool – all sourced from their countries they were inspired by (India, Scotland, and Peru, respectively). There will even be some Japanese-made denim in the mix. Made In… seemingly marks a turning point in fashion’s collective discourse, with fashion production fast becoming a global process, what with increased consumer interest in where exactly the fabrics that make the clothing actually come from.
